Violet Katherine (Steinle) Stone, 90, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.
Violet was born May 8, 1925 on the family farm south of Dorrance, Kansas, the daughter of George, Sr. and Mollie (Keller) Steinle. She grew up in the Dorrance area.
Violet was united in marriage to Ernest Stone in 1974 in Great Bend, Kansas. They made their home in Great Bend.
Violet was a devoted wife and homemaker. She also worked in housekeeping at the Highland Manor. She worked at the Holiday Inn in Great Bend for over 30 years.
Surviving family include her daughter, Rita Boxberger of Russell, Kansas; Sister, Helen Wilhelm of Salina, Kansas; three grandchildren, Randy Boxberger (Cathy), Brenda Boxberger and Kim Augustine (Don) all of Russell, Kansas; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest in 2004; four brothers, Sam Steinle, Ben Steinle, Albert Steinle and George Steinle, Jr.; and three sisters, Eunice Barton, Wilma Belk and Ella Mae Moser.
Celebration of Violetís Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell with Pastor Earl Haggard officiating. A private burial will take place. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6 PM to 7 PM. A Memorial has been established with Russell County Food Pantry. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
