Carl Lee Weathers, 75 of Harper, Kansas and formerly of Russell died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home.
Carl was born April 8, 1936 in Skiatook, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Glen and Marjorie (Dutton) Weathers. He grew up in Skiatook until his sophomore year in high school when his family moved to Russell.
Carl served his country in the U.S. Army during the 1950ís.
Carl was a truck driver most of his life. He started out as an independent then when he moved back to Russell he started driving for Revell.
Carl was a member of the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240.
Carl enjoyed spending his spare time tinkering and working on trucks.
Surviving family include his children; Charla Jíne Thomas (Loren) of Manhattan, Kansas, Kelligh Loyd of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Lonnie Weathers of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Mark Weathers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step son Jerry Sullivan (Melissa) and step daughters, Annette Sullivan and Theresa Sullivan both of Russell, Kansas; brothers, Glen Weathers (Wilma) of Russell, Kansas and Lyle Weathers (Sandy) of Skiatook, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Kuntsch (Bill) of Russell, Kansas; companion Pauline Allender of Harper, Kansas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Smith and Jackie Adams.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 5 PM Thursday at the mortuary. A memorial has been established as the Carl Weathers Memorial Fund. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
