Louis Earl Bushell, 81, of Russell, Kansas died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.
Louis was born November 23, 1931 on a farm north of Wilson, Kansas, the son of Ray and Irene (Sanders) Bushell. He grew up and attended schools in Dorrance and Wilson. He lived in Oklahoma until 1975 when he moved to Lucas, Kansas.
Louis was married to Bertha Scott and married 20 plus year and also married to Ella Mae Michaelis on May 10, 1986 in Russell, Kansas. They made their home in Russell.
Louis was a diesel mechanic in the oil fields. He worked for Ivan Holt for many years.
Louis was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall Church. He loved gardening, and visiting with family and friends and was quite a joker.
Surviving family include his son Don Bushell and wife Reta of Dorrance, Kansas; daughter Donna Mays and husband Dennis of El Dorado, Springs, Missouri ; sister Bonnie Frederking of Lucas, Kansas; three grandchildren, Don Bushell, Jr, Desiree Bushell and Deidra Bushell; and five great grandchildren, Angelina Bushell, Kylee Ginther, Emma Basgall, Cameron Basgall and Ellie Basgall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ella Mae and Sister Joyce Dyer.
Celebration of Louis’ Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Burial will follow in the Wilson City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the Mortuary with the family greeting friends from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. A Memorial has been established with Harden Hospice of Salina. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of these arrangements.
