Randal Jack “Randy” Neal, 64, of Russell, Kansas died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
Randy was born March 7, 1949 in Lyons, Kansas, the son of Jack B. and Wilda J. (Jean) Neal. He grew up in Chase, Kansas and attended Chase High School and graduated from Elkhart High School.
Randy was united in marriage to Bonnie K. Garrett on May 21, 1983 in Russell, Kansas. They have made their home in Russell.
Randy started working in the oil patch as a truck driver for Koch Industries. He worked for this company, which later was known as Plains Marketing LP, for over 45 years on the pipeline and many different management positions.
Randy was a man that lived and breathed the oil patch. But he also have a love for riding motorcycles, fishing, watching KC Chiefs football and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving family include his wife of 29 years, Bonnie of the home; five children, Brad Neal (Allison), Steve Neal (Tami) and Danielle Ewers (Travis) all of Russell, Kansas, Luke Hoffman (Vanity) of Euless, Texas and Adam Neal of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother, Wilda Neal of Valley Center, Kansas; three sisters, Vickie Wilderson (Allen) of Valley Center, Kansas, Cindy Effertz (Steve) of Great Bend, Kansas and Gail Bailey (Ron) of Hoisington, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jamie Neal, Dylan Neal, Garrett Ewers, Gavin Ewers, Tyler Neal and Jaxon Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services will be held at Dorrance City Cemetery on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. with Ron Bailey officiating. Friends may sign the book at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell from 9 AM to 3 PM Thursday. Cremation has preceded the services. A Memorial has been established with Hospice of Hays.
