Kane Alan Reddig, 25, of Gorham, Kansas, died on Friday, September 06, 2013 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, Kansas.
Kane was born on December 02, 1987 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Brian “Doc” and Lea (Householter) Reddig. Kane grew up in the Gorham and Russell areas and graduated from Russell High School in 2006. After high school he worked in the oilfield industry working on a pulling unit for Don Karst Well Service. He also pumped oil wells and built fencing for the Stoughtons until his health prevented him from working. With his parents he attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Russell. Kane enjoyed playing video games, being outdoors, fishing, trapping and hunting deer and pheasant. He enjoyed having a good time and loved spending time with his family who always stood with him during his time of need.
He is survived by his parents Brian and Lea of the home, brother Tad D. Reddig of Russell, Grandmother Betty Householter of Russell, and his faithful dog Mia.
He was preceded in death by his grandpas Richard Reddig and Robert Householter, grandmother and step-grandfather Diana and Don Karst.
A service to celebrate Kane’s new life will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Russell with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at the mortuary with the family present to greet guests from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday evening. Memorials may be given to the Lasting Life Ministries (Almost Home) and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
