Lloyd J. Musgrove, Jr., 84 of Hays, Kansas and formerly of Natoma died Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Lloyd was born May 16, 1925 in Salina, Kansas the son of Lloyd, Sr. and Cora Hazel (Reynolds) Musgrove. He grew up in Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School.
Lloyd served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was stationed in the Pacific.
He was united in marriage to Reva Faye Maupin on March 10, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. This union was blessed with two children, David and Trudy. Reva preceded him in death on December 12, 2005.
Lloyd was an oilfield worker in the Natoma area for over 35 years with the Dreiling Oil Company and 5 years with COOP.
He was a member of the Natoma Presbyterian Church, Russell V.F.W. Post 6240 and the Russell Masonic Lodge. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and spending time in his garden.
Surviving family include his son David Musgrove and wife Johanna of Hays, Kansas; daughter, Trudy Curtis and husband Jerald of Union Hill, Illinois; three brothers, Wayne Musgrove of Salina, Kansas, Clyde Musgrove of Arkansas City, Kansas and Robert Musgrove of Wichita, Kansas; four sisters, Lillian Henderson of El Pasodino,Texas, Phyllis Daniels and Ethel Roseberry both of Wichita, Kansas and Eulalha Ouellette of Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Aaron, Jenny, Chris, Shannon and Shawn; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elmis Crosby and Winifred Geering and a great grandchild.
