Donna Sue Hopper
Donna was born February 8, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Bill and Clara (Cox) Hopper. She grew up in Albuquerque and Russell. She graduated from Russell High School in 1980.
Donna moved to Salina in 1980 and started working at the Salina Regional Hospital. She was there for 10 years before transferring to the Mowery Clinic where she was a phlebotomist. In 1995 she returned to Russell and worked for her father at Bill Hopper Ford.
Donna was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Russell. She also donated a lot of her time with Big Brothers & Big Sisters in Salina and the Good Will in Hays. She loved doing floral arrangements, working in her yard and garden, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving family include her father,Bill Hopper and friend Rosetta Jamison of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Janice Hansen and husband Skip of Brookville, Kansas and Leanna Felix and husband Larry of Ottawa, Kansas; nephews, Michael Hansen and Brian Felix; and niece, Jessica Felix. She was preceded in death by her mother, brother Randy Hopper and niece Christina.Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Southern Baptist Church of Russell with Dave Jones officiating. Cremation has preceded the services. Memorials have been established with the Southern Baptist Church or the Russell City Animal Department. Contributions and condolences may be sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of these arrangements.
