Paxton Lewis Moreland, 28, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. Paxton was born July 10, 1992 in Hays, Kansas.  He was the son of Dennis Moreland, Jr. and Kelli Geary. He grew up and attended schools in Russell and Benson, Minnesota.  He graduated from Benson High School in 2010. Paxton was united in marriage to Jennifer Ginther on August 13, 2016 in Russell, Kansas, where they made their home. Paxton was a hard worker, dedicated to those around him. His trades were welding and as an oil field worker.

Cathy (Cobb) Ruby, 69, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Cathy was born September 22, 1951 in Huntsville, Alabama.  She was one of eight children to David Ray and Lena Kathleen (Tate) Cobb.  She grew up in the Decatur, Alabama area and attended high school there.  She later attended Broward Community College in Florida and Burton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas.  She lived in the Bushton, Kansas area from 1977 to 1989. Cathy was united in marriage to Bruce E. Ruby on January 23, 1990 in Russell, Kansas. 

Warren Dale Bushnell, 77, of Wilson, Kansas, died on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Ellsworth County Medical Center in Ellsworth, Kansas. Warren was born on November 09, 1943, in Smith Center, Kansas, the son of John W. and Lucy Emma (Westbrook) Bushnell. He grew up in Agra, Kansas, and graduated from Agra High School in 1962. During his time in high school, he set many track records, some of which still stand. Mary was born November 2, 1961 in Russell, Kansas.  She was the youngest daughter of Harold and Donna (Turley) Dick.  She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of 1980. Edna Isabella (Deines) Mai, 99, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Homestead Assisted Living in Russell. Edna was born on November 21, 1921 on the family farm.  She was one of five children born to Ferdinand and Amalia “Mollie” (Mai) Deines.  She grew up on the farm south of Russell near the Smokey River.  She attended country schools, achieved her GED and had college credits in Accounting.
