Donna Kay (Schmidtberger) Albrecht, age 75, of  Russell, Kansas, died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Hays Medical Center. Donna was born March 22, 1945, in Russell, Kansas to Luetta May (Turner) and Herman Francis Schmidtberger. Donna grew up in the Fairport and Paradise area. Her family moved to Gorham, Kansas her Junior year where she graduated from Gorham High School in 1963. She was married to her high school sweetheart, and the love of her life Dennis Albrecht on July 7, 1963 in Paradise, Kansas. They made their home in Russell and moved into their current home in 1969. Paul Ellsworth David, 79, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Paul was born April 7, 1941 in Holdrege, Nebraska.  He was one of thirteen children born to Everett and Retha B. (Geer) David.  He grew up in Holdrege and Phelps County, Nebraska and graduated from Loomis High School in the Class of 1958. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army as Military Police at Ft. Benning, Georgia. After his service was completed, he lived in Denver, Colorado a few years before moving to Loomis, NE to work on

Jaclyn Louise (Lewis) Burton, 91, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Russell Regional Hospital. Jaclyn was born July 9, 1929 at her parent’s home in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harold M. and Juanita S. (Winters) Lewis.  Jaclyn’s family moved from Oklahoma to Madison, Kansas in her early years.  Her parents bought a jewelry store where she enjoyed working.  The Lewis family bought a Russell, Kansas Jewelry store and moved there in 1945.  After graduating from Russell High School in 1947, she attended two years at Ft. Steven Bradley Reed, 54, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his home. Steven was born on October 12, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Thomas Milton and Keitha Ann (Morgan) Reed.  He grew up in central Kansas, where he went on to work primarily in the oil and manufacturing industries. He moved to Russell in 1983, where he would remain for the next two decades. During this time, he was married and raised two children, Clinton and Katie.
