Thomas Logan Taggart, 72, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas. Thomas was born December 4, 1947 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Richard H. and Margaret (Parham) Taggart. He grew up in Hays, Kansas, and graduated from Hays High School in the Class of 65. He then attended two years at Ft. Hays State University before joining the U.S. Army. He served his country in the Vietnam War. Ralph Laverne Oswald, 95, of Luray, Kansas, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Health Care Resort in Wichita, Kansas.  Ralph was born September 19, 1924 in Luray, Kansas and was the son of John F. “Frank” and Luella Tressie (Markley) Oswald   He grew up in Luray and graduated from Luray High School in 1942. Patty was born December 7, 1952 in Russell.  She was one of five children born to Nathan and Dorothy (Anderson) Karst.  She grew up in Russell a few years before moving to Ellis, Kansas.  She graduated from Ellis High School in the Class of 1970. Stanley Ray Schwien, 68, of Russell, Kansas, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at his home in Russell surrounded by his loving wife of 41 years and eldest son. Stan was born into the Schwien family June 16, 1951 in Russell to Leonard “Larry” Schwien and Norma Jean (Boxberger) Schwien. Elmer Leroy Steinle, 97, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Main Street Manor in Russell. Elmer was born February 19, 1923 in Russell. He was first of four children born to David Samuel and Amelia Molly (Ehrlich) Steinle. Elmer grew up in Russell and attended Russell High School, but had to quite before graduating, when the family farm was lost during the great depression, and went to work as a cook at the Puritan Café, in Russell, to help the family. J.D. Most, 87, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Joyce was born on December 7, 1943.  She grew up in Yonkers, New York.  She moved to the Waldo, Kansas area in 1973.
