Anita Louise Lee

Anita louise Lee, 67, of Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, February 09, 2026, at her home in Russell.

Anita was born on November 24, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of John and Beverly (Proffitt) Miles. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from high school. She was blessed with two daughters Tearsha and Mimi. She moved from Florida to Russell in 2015, to be close to her daughter Mimi. She worked as a Housekeeper for 8 years She enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo and family

She is survived by her two daughters Tearsha Twyman (Tracy) of Yukon, Oklahoma and Mimi Gallagher (Dennis, Jr.) of Galatia, Kansas; brothers Leonard Proffitt of Coeur D’alene, Idaho and David Miles (Jennifer) of Boise, Idaho; sisters Flo Turner of Phoenix, Arizona, Debra Landy (Kenneth) of Pittsburg, Kansas, Candy Serratt (Mike) of Phoenix, Arizona, Bernie Ojeda (Sal) of Phoenix, Arizona and Dawn Brandeen (Jeff) of Lee, Maine; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John M.A. Proffitt.

Cremation was selected by the family. A family celebration of Anita’s life will be held at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.
