Anthony B. “Tony” Miller, 67, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at his home in Russell.

Tony was born on January 25, 1959, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Earl L. and Mary Lou (Anderson) Miller. He grew up in Russell, Kansas, and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1977. He was united in marriage to Denise J. (Voos) Funk on September 26, 1987 at St. John Lutheran Church in Russell. From this union Tony and Denise were blessed with two daughters Mandy and Channi. Tony was a devoted son and uncle who lived a life rooted in loyalty, hard work, and fierce love for his family. He poured his heart into helping his parents on the farm and with the Log Cabin. When health failed, he welcomed them into his home and cared for them with deep devotion until their final days. He worked for Murfin Drilling for 25 years as an oil field pumper. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Russell, the R Club, and was a member of the Russell V.F.W. Auxiliary. He was a huge fan of Kansas University sports and Dallas Cowboys football. He also enjoyed being outdoors, golfing and hunting. You always knew who Tony thought highly of by the stories he would tell. He was proud of a lot of us in this room and if he wasn’t, well, you knew that too. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his favorite thing to do was attend his grandkids sporting events. He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving family include his wife Denise of the home; daughters Mandy Reddig and husband Tad of Russell, Kansas, and Channi Miller and husband Logan of Macksville, Kansas; nephew Trampas Miller and wife Jodie and family of Lindsborg, Kansas; 5 grandchildren Adrion Ehrlich, Jaydon Funk, Blayse Jones, Landen Miller and Callen Miller and great granddaughter Braylee Hobbs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom Miller and grandson Isaac Ehrlich.

Cremation was selected by the family. A gathering and visitation to celebrate Tony’s life will be held from 4 pm to 10 pm on Wednesday, August, 26th, 2026, at the Reddig Farm at 4325 177th Street, Gorham, KS. Memorials may be given to the Tony Miller Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the memorial service arrangements.
