D. Rosetta (Deines) Jamison was born on October 9, 1930 in Trego County, Kansas to Adam and Ruphina (Rufina) Deines. She passed away on October 8, 2026 just one day shy of her 96th birthday. Rosetta attended school at the Zion School in Trego Center through the 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Trego Community High School with the Class of 1948. After high school she worked various jobs in WaKeeney, Kansas including many years as a secretary and doing accounting work at Wicks Petroleum.

She met Duane Jamison of Quinter, Kansas at a dance and they married on May 28, 1961. After marriage they made their home in Sylvan Grove, Kansas where Duane taught Industrial Arts and P.E. Two children were born to this union, Alan Duane and Leigh Ann. In 1966, the family moved to Luray, Kansas when Duane accepted a job as a school administrator. Summers were spent at the Jamison family farm in Quinter, Kansas, where Rosetta helped prepare meals to take to the field. Her background in accounting came in handy as she managed family finances and handled all the bookkeeping duties for the farm. When Duane passed away in 1996 she continued to live in Luray for several more years. She eventually moved to Russell, Kansas and spent the remaining years of her life there.

Following her husband’s passing, she enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law Delores Deines, taking several bus trip adventures. She was known as quite the dancer, hitting the dance floor at family weddings and anniversary dances. In her later years she ventured around the region attending the Jolly Mixers senior dance events. She loved her family and friends, making time to attend family weddings, birthdays, graduations, funerals and other activities.

Rosetta, or “Grandma Kara” as granddaughter Cecily lovingly nicknamed her, spent her later years taking holiday trips to visit her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and grand-kittens Rascal, Sissy, Hallee & Grayson. Her close family friend, and daughter by love though not by blood, Teri Rose Wagner was a godsend; providing home health care for almost a year until Rosetta’s health worsened and she moved into the Wheatland Nursing Center.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband Duane, parents Adam and Ruphina Deines, step-mother Miriam Deines, brother LaVerne (Deacon) Deines and his wife Delores, nephew Randy Deines, brother Donald (Velvet) Deines and his wife Margie, sister Gladys Feist and her husband (Wild) Bill, sister-in-law Betty Lou Fisher and her husband Verlyn (Bud) Fisher, niece Sandra Oakley and nephew Randy Fisher.

She is survived by her son Alan (LuAnn) Jamison, daughter Leigh Ann, and step-children Jeff (Janice) Ferris, and Jennifer Ferris. Grandchildren: Courtney (Shane) Paul, Carey (Andrew) Hanzlicek, Cecily (Colton) Day and Chad (Wooi J See) Ferris. Great-grandchildren: Kinsley and Colton Paul, William, Alexander, and Vivian Hanzlicek, Tanner, Ava, and Trace Day, Sze Lin, and Xiao Mei Ferris, as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
