Frances Germaine (Schauf) Missimer-Baker , 95, of Derby, Kansas and formerly of Russell and Bunker Hill, Kansas died on January 30, 2014

Germaine was born on October 4, 1918, in Billings, Montana, the daughter of John C. and Mary E. (Pember) Schauf.  She was salutatorian of the 1936, Bunker Hill High School class.  She graduated from Sacramento Business College with a degree in Business.  She was united in marriage to Joseph A Baker on September 5, 1965 in Minden, Nebraska.  She was secretary for several different businesses and retired from S.M.U.D. in 1976.  Many years after her husband’s death she was united in marriage to Dean Missimer in 2004.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Russell and Derby, Kansas.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Russell, volunteer for the Russell Hospital Auxiliary, Russell Food Pantry volunteer, United Methodist Quilting Missions, the Catholic Church quilting.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening, living out on the farm and spending time outdoors.  She also loved animals, especially her cat Fifi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph A. Baker on December 13, 1996, and husband Dean Missimer in May 2006, brothers John P. Schauf and Clifford D. Schauf; sister in-law Rebecca (Burns) Schauf; youngest sister Irene J. Prester.

She was survived by sister Regina E. Pines of Maryland and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A private burial and service will take place at the Dubuque Cemetery in Dubuque, Kansas at a later date and time.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
