A Poem by Josie Ann Doty
Old and wrinkled am I.
Some folks think I’m going to die.
I am only here to rest, throughout life, I’ve done my best.
For I am young and alive inside,
My mind is good, and I have my pride.
Arthritic hands are working still,
There is pain, but they work with a will.
They have worked each day, since I was young.
Now help is needed to carry on.
A cherry hello, a hug, a kiss,
Knowing you care, that is what I miss.
Visits from my children, grandchildren too,
Love, that’s all I need and you!
