Larry Naylor, 76, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence.
Larry was born June 10, 1948 in Russell, Kansas. He was the son of Alfred W. and Ruby A. (Clark) Naylor. He grew up in Natoma, Kansas and graduated from the Natoma High School in the Class of 66.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Air Force for over 22 years. When he retired from the military, he was a Master Sargent.
Larry was a Blacksmith by trade and talent. He enjoyed fishing, putting together models and especially taking trips to visit his daughters and grandkids.
Larry’s surviving family include his two daughters, Tamara Lakes (Curtis) of Connersville, Indiana, and Tanya Pavlu (Ashley) of Blue Springs, Missouri; sisters, Freda Bauer of San Diego, California, Rosalie Schmidtberger of Marion, Kansas, and Joan Hale (Alan) of Norton, Kansas; foster-brothers, Larry Hackerott of Hays, Kansas, and Roger Hackerott (Glenna) of Russell, Kansas; foster-sisters, Roberta Ptaschek and Mary Casey of Natoma, Kansas; four grandchildren, Nicolle Crowley (Charles), Damion McVey, Garriston McBee (Christian) and Avery Pavlu; three great grandchildren, Donte Crowley, Taevinn Crowley and Eva Crowley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Natoma City Cemetery in Natoma, Kansas. A Memorial has been established with Natoma City Park. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
