Patricia (Trish) Fae Elliott, 78, of Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas

Trish was born on February 20, 1947, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Cecil D. and Nathalie M. (Bishop) Bassett. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1965. She was then joined in marriage with Elmer R. Stecklein and raised 2 daughters together, Brenda and Sydney. After working at Travenol for a few years, she then attended Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas where she worked as a receptionist in the Health Dept. Years passed after her first marriage ended and she was then united in marriage to Henry G. Elliott on May 28, 1982, in Hays, Kansas. While living in Oklahoma, Trish worked as a civil servant for the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board for many years.

Trish loved her family and friends with a passion and spent as much time as possible with them. She enjoyed cats and had at least one in her life at most times. She also enjoyed art, painting in particular, sewing, crocheting, playing games and having girls day out with her daughters being pampered and spending a day out on the town. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving family include her husband Henry of Wilson Care Center, daughters Brenda Scott and husband Ronald of Russell, Kansas and Sydney Bushek and husband Sean of Silver Springs, Nevada; sister Nina Dale and husband George in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and 3 grandchildren; Joseph, Tricia, & Rayann. And 2 step-daughters; Christina & Kendra with 6 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Loretta Owens.

A memorial service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held at 10:30 on Jan 30, 2026 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary. Her remains will be placed to rest at Wakeeney Veterans Cemetery in Wakeeney, KS. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Jan 29, 2026 with family present to greet guests from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Thursday evening. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
