Rodney John “Rod” Steckel, 76, of Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
A celebration of the funeral mass for Rod will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell, Kansas. A vigil and rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening, September 19, 2025, at the church and family will be present to greet guests from 6:00 P.M. to 7 P.M.. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Russell High School Trap Shooting Club and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
