Roger Steven Churbuck

Roger Steven Churbuck, 70, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Roger was born on October 18, 1955, in Gardena, California, the son of Bernard R. and Shirley Ann Churbuck. He and his companion Eva Kocinski moved to Natoma, Kansas, in 1999, before moving to Russell, Kansas in 2001. He worked as a mechanic then worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working in his wood shop on various projects, and spending time with his beloved cat, Samantha.

Surviving family includes his companion Eva Kocinski of the home; his children; Eric Churbuck of Massachusetts, Todd Churbuck of Massachusetts, Maja Kern (Leonard) of Hays, Kansas, Chris Kocinski (Aimee) of Derby, Kansas and Adam Kociski (Dayna) of Natoma, Kansas; sister Rebecca Obrien (Dave) of Vermont; aunt Betty Webber of Massachusetts and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family has chosen cremation. A private family service will take place at a later date. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
