Tammy Jean Miller, 65, of Dorrance, Kansas, died on Monday, October 12, 2025, at her home in Dorrance.
Tammy was born on December 03, 1959, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Helen Darlene (Palmer) Schneider Zorn. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1977. She recently achieved her bachelor’s degree in literature from Wichita State University, and was in her final semester of her Master’s as an honor roll student. She was a loving mother who raised 6 children Aubrey, Matthew, Jenny, Jerica, Emily and Elisabeth. For her life partner Chad, she was the best thing that ever happened. She was a longtime team member for Meridy’s Restaurant, for over 20 years. She was a member of the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafting, baking, sewing, gardening, camping and going to the lake. She loved garage sales, wheel of fortune and collecting mice knick-knacks. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved bringing joy to others. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Surviving family include her significant other Chad Zeek of the home, her children Aubrey Flaherty and Matthew Garrard (Clara) all of Great Bend, Kansas, Jenny Garrard of Salina, Kansas, Jerica Garrard of Holyrood, Kansas, Emily Garrard of Wilson, Kansas and Elisabeth Miller of Wichita, Kansas; brothers Terry Zorn (Becky) of South Dakota, Lester Schneider (Rayna) of Wichita, Kansas and David Schneider of Oregon; sisters Martha Schneider of Wichita, Kansas and Debbie Schneider of Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Zorn.
A graveside service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the mortuary with family greeting guests from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Thursday evening. Memorials may be given to the Tammy Miller Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
