Frances Alberta (Holl) Nuss, 97 of Russell, Kansas, died on October 3, 2020 at the Main Street Manor in Russell, Kansas. Frances was born on the family farm on February 6, 1923, in Russell County, Kansas, the daughter of Levi and Caroline (Dumler) Holl.  She grew up on the family farm and attended Holl School located across from the Holl homestead.  She graduated from Russell High School in 1941.  Following graduation she attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She worked in clerical jobs over the years.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Leland

Constance Kay “Connie” (Schatz) Kilian, 73, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Connie was born August 13, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Joseph and Nora (Steinert) Schatz.  As an infant, Connie and her family moved to Russell where she grew up and attended school. Connie was united in marriage to Frank Kilian in Miami, Oklahoma.  This union was blessed with a daughter, Michelle.  They made their home in Russell. Frances Mae Boxberger, 85, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, October 02, 2020, at the Main Street Manor in Russell. Frances was born on January 08, 1935, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of William F. and Ida Caroline (Nuss) Boxberger.  She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1953. After high school, Frances graduated from Ft. Dorothy M. Hopper, 98, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, October 02, 2020, at the Main Street Manor in Russell. Dorothy was born on September 21, 1922, in Dorrance, Kansas, the daughter of William G. and Amelia (Woelk) Teppe.  She was raised on the family farm in Dorrance and graduated from Dorrance High School in the class of 1940.  After high school she attended Ft. Joan Marie Mosher, 87, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday, October 01, 2020, at her home in Russell. Joan was born on January 15, 1933, in Concordia, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Demante) Starkey.  She grew up in Clyde, Kansas, and graduated from Clyde High School.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Harold “Gene” Mosher on July 28, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas.  From this union Joan and Gene were blessed with a daughter Margaret.  Joan was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and took pride in working in her yard and flower garden.

Rebecca Lynn Baer, 59, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the Salina Regional Hospital in Salina, Kansas. Rebecca was born on August 08, 1961, in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of William P. and Iva Darlene (Gordon) Baer.  She grew up in California and lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for most of her life before moving to Russell several years ago.  She worked for many years at the Russell Regional Hospital as a switchboard operator.  She was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church in Russell.  She is survived by her sons Jake Kossak of Mt.

Donna Kay Schmitt, 75, of Gorham, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Donna was born April 5, 1945 in Hays, Kansas.  She was one of four children born to Johnnie and Mary Ann (Talbot) Schmitt.  She grew up on the family farm south of Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School in the Class of 63. Donna was a personal assistant for many families for many years in the Gorham area.  She also was the owner and operator of the Schmitty’s Restaurant and liquor store in Gorham.  She was a member

Jim was born on September 06, 1951, in Concordia, Kansas, the son of Armand and Helen (Appleby) Balthazor.  He grew up in Concordia, Kansas, and graduated from Notre Dame High School in the class of 1969.  After high school, he received his teaching degree from Ft. Harold Sheridan Brumley, 75, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his home with family by his side. Harold Sheridan Brumley was born on November 06, 1944, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Harold and Delma Jane (Trent) Brumley.  He grew up in the Okeene, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas, areas before moving to Russell, Kansas.  He attended Russell schools and then joined the United States Navy in 1962.  He worked for Crete Carriers, Speedway and Real Cattle Company in McCool Junction, Nebraska from which he retired.  He was a life member of the Russell V.F.W. #6240 and
