Richard L. Lewis, 80, of Henderson Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, June 2 in Henderson, Nevada. Richard was born in Russell Kansas, to Joseph Victor Lewis and Edna Ruth Lewis on December 10, 1939. Richard completed a Master’s Degree in mathematics from Pittsburg State University. After graduation, he enjoyed teaching college-level mathematics at Pittsburg State University in Kansas and Hayward State College in California. Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Bailey, 90, of Hays, Kansas and formerly of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Via Christ Village in Hays. Jeannie was born December 20, 1929 on the family farm in Barton County, Kansas.  She was one of seventeen children to Henry and Mollie (Miller) Wilhelm.  She grew up on the farm in northern Barton County and attended country schools. Theodore “Ted” Gepner, Jr, 92, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home in Russell. Ted was born May 9, 1928 in Clay Center, Kansas, the son of Theodore, Sr. and Sara (Middleton) Gepner. He grew up and attended school in Clay Center. Ted was united in marriage to Helen Kurtenbach in July of 1952. This union was blessed with two daughters, Jody and Wava. Later in life, he was united in marriage to Carol Newman in February of 2011. Ted worked in the highway construction business for over 36 years as a heavy equipment operator.

Donald Lee Kilian, 89, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his home in Russell. Don was born April 16, 1931 in Russell.  He was one of five children born to Sam and Alma (Mai) Kilian.  He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School with the class of 1949. Don was united in marriage to Mary Ann Weigel on January 13, 1950 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  This union was blessed with six children; Sheila, Sam, Sonya, Don, Jr., Christopher and Dwight.  They made their home in Russell.  Mary preceded him in death in 2005. Glenda Rae Tiffin, 84, of Russell, Kansas, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at the Smoky Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Salina, Kansas. Glenda was born on January 14, 1936, in Blue Rapids, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Mildred (Fletcher) Nance.  She grew up in Marysville, Kansas, and graduated from Marysville High School in 1954.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Donald Glen Tiffin on September 01, 1979, in Lincoln, Kansas.  They made their home in Russell, Kansas, and lived in Russell for 34 years.  Donald preceded her in death on May 04, 2014. 

Mural Eileen Stubblefield Fisk , 93, of Russell, Kansas, died at Main Street Manor on Thursday, May 14, 2020. She was born August 11, 1926 at Dry Lake Keystone,  Oklahoma. Mural was the fifth of eight children born to James Oscar Stubblefield and Bessie Naomi Peck Stubblefield. Mural attended grade school at Keystone, Broken Arrow, and Sand Springs Oklahoma. She went to high school at Cleveland, Oklahoma graduating in 1944. After high school, she worked at Commander Mills in Sand Springs. Mural was united in marriage to Lee R. Jaide Therese Lawson, 18, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 after a courageous battle against Cancer at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
