Malcolm Lee Marshall, 94, lifetime resident of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. Malcolm was born April 29, 1928 in Russell, the son of Martin “Cleve” and Myrtle (Mitchell) Marshall.  He was a 1948 graduate of Russell High School.  He served his country during the Korean Conflict entering the  U.S. Army  in 1952, stationed at various locations throughout the US and later in Newfoundland.  After his Duty was completed, he returned to Russell. Larry Dean Kilian passed away July 31, 2022, at 85 years of age at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.  Larry was born February 21, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kansas. Larry competed in shot put in Junior High track and field and was on the 440 relay team, posting a new school record with a 51.4 run. He also played varsity football all 4 years of high school, played men’s basketball, and ran track. Donald H. Burton, 97, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Main Street Manor of Russell. Donald was born June 2, 1925 in Hays, Kansas.  He was the son of Harold N. and Helen M. (Truan) Burton.  They lived in Hays and moved to Russell when he started school.  He graduated from Russell High School in 1943. Betty passed away July 18, 2022 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas at the age of 89 years and 11 months. Betty was baptized September 18, 1932 and confirmed April 14, 1946 in the Bender Hill Church. Betty was united in marriage with Hubert S. John was born on August 07, 1943, in Osborne, Kansas, the son of Matt and Luise (Meier) Becker.  He grew up on the family farm in Osborne County, Kansas and attended Mt.
