Dale D. Ehrlich

Dale David Ehrlich, 81, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday April 17, 2024, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born on July 29, 1942, on the family farm in rural Russell, Kansas, the son of David C. and Amelia (Ehrlich) Ehrlich.  He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1960.  He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Twyla Mae Krug on February 27, 1965, in Russell.  From this union Dale and Twyla were blessed with 3 children, Thomas, Tori and Tami.  Dale worked as a heavy equipment operator for several companies but most of his working years were spent with Koch Industries.   He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church of Russell and was also a member of the Elks Lodge.  Dale was an outdoorsman and had a love for fishing, mowing the lawn, attending sporting events, drag races, car shows, and visiting with others but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and granddaughter.

Surviving family include his wife, of 59 years, Twyla of the home, daughters Tori Hall and husband Roy of Russell, Kansas and Tami Ehrlich of Manhattan, Kansas; granddaughter Halle Anderson and husband Colton of Russell, Kansas; sister Angeline Green of Russell, Kansas; niece Gwenna Green of Russell, Kansas; and nephew Lionel Green of Russell, Kansas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Thomas D. Ehrlich. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church of Russell, Kansas.  Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday April 23, 2024, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas with family greeting guests from 5 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Tuesday evening.  Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church and sent in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
