Gail S. Williams

Gail Samone Williams, 83, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, December 03, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.

Gail was born on September 17, 1940, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy C. and Florence E. (Owens) Sack.  She grew up in Bunker Hill, Kansas, and graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1958.  After high school she achieved her associate degree from Ft. Hays State University.  She lived in the Bunker Hill and Russell, Kansas areas all her life and worked as an X-Ray Technician at the Russell Regional Hospital for 33 years.  She was a member of the Bunker Hill Methodist Church.  She enjoyed riding horses, bowling, gambling watching Kansas City Royals baseball and watching most all sports on television.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her sons Randy Williams of Gering, Nebraska and Tim Williams of Russell, Kansas and daughter Kim Williams of Citrus Springs, Florida; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Russell C. Williams III, brother Leroy Duane Sack, sister in-law Betty Sack and grandson Francisco Serrano, niece Debbie Sack and special rescue companion dog Lucky Lady.

A memorial service to celebrate Gail’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 07, 2023, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.  Burial of her ashes will follow at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas. Book registration will be available from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Wednesday, December 06, 2023, at the mortuary.  Memorials may be given to the Russell Senior Center and sent in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
