Gloria A. Dockstader

Gloria Ann Dockstader, 82, of Bunker Hill, Kansas, died on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Russell, Kansas.

Gloria was born on March 18, 1939, on the family farm in Bunker Hill, Kansas, the daughter of Guy and Elenore (Sharp) Duvall.  The youngest of 10 kids she grew up on the farm known today as Duvall Cove and graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1957, and later graduated from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She met fell in love and was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Louis Dockstader on September 14, 1962 in Russell, Kansas.  From this union Gloria and Robert were blessed with two daughters, Patty and Elizabeth.  They made their home in rural Russell, Kansas, north of Bunker Hill.  She worked as a homemaker and farm wife, working together with her husband on the family farm.  Bob preceded her in death on October 05, 2005.  After Bob’s passing, for many years, she continued to enjoy raising cattle and horses.  She also enjoyed driving around the country roads, seeing family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her daughters Elizabeth Krape and husband Tad of St. Lucie, Florida and Patty Krape of Russell, Kansas;  2 grandchildren Ashley Hopper and husband Jeremy of Russell, Kansas and Mary Carabajal and husband Calen of Lawrence, Kansas and 2 great grandchildren Abigale and Janae Hopper of Russell, Kansas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Guy, Duane and Dean Duvall and sisters Mary Chard, Isabel Letsch, Vivian Steinle, Betty Neill, Wilma Mills and Elnora Cook. There will be a private family service at a later date and cremation has been selected.  An open visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Thursday, August 05, 2021, at the mortuary, with family greeting guests from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday evening.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.
