Luke L. Stricker

Luke Leon Stricker, 63, of Winona, Kansas, and former Milberger, Kansas resident, died on Saturday, March 04, 2023, at the Wilson Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wilson, Kansas. 

Luke was born on March 27, 1959, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Leon Henry and Carla June (Pruter) Stricker.  He grew up on the family farm in Milberger and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1977.  He was blessed with two children Jenna and Shawn.  Luke worked as a farmer on the family farm but also worked selling farming machinery throughout Kansas and Nebraska.  He was a longtime member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger, Kansas.  He enjoyed watching Kansas University basketball and selling farming machinery.  Most of all he enjoyed being outdoors and working the family farm and spending time with his family.

Surviving family include his daughter Jenna Shank of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and son Shawn Stricker and wife Ashley of Winona, Kansas; brothers Kirk Stricker and wife Joni of Wichita, Kansas and John Stricker of Anderson, South Carolina and 6 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service to celebrate Luke’s life will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Milberger Cemetery in Milberger, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
