Mark D. Rein

Mark David Rein, 55, of Overland Park, Kansas, died on Monday, April 13, 2020, at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Mark was born on April 17, 1964, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Marlin L. Rein and Dianne R. Colhour-Farmer.  He grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and graduated from Topeka West High School in the class of 1982.  Later, he graduated from DeVry University with a BS degree in Telecommunications.  He worked for Gateway and Sprint.

Mark loved coming to Russell, Kansas, visiting his former grandparents, Bruce and Ruth Colhour, Olinda Rein and his many Rein cousins.  He enjoyed family, fishing, the Jayhawks, playing drums in the KC area and his devotion to his dog “Tig” and were his joys in life.

He is survived by his mother Dianne and step father John Farmer III; brother Scott Rein and wife LaDale and nieces Ashley and Erin all of Bayou Vista, Texas; his uncle, the Reverend Donald B. Colhour of Los Angeles, California; step-brothers John O. Farmer IV and wife Michelle of Russell, Kansas and their 6 children, Michael Farmer of Kansas City Missouri and two daughters; step-sisters Christina Prickett of Burleston, Texas and her four children, Abby Zavos and her husband Chuck and their 3 children of Liberty, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother.
