Donald Alan Dawson, 81, of Russell, Kansas died on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Russell Regional Hospital after a severe illness.  Don was born on July 20th, 1941 in Russell, Kansas the son of Arthur and Anna (Kost) Dawson.  He grew up in Russell and graduated Russell High School in 1959.  He attended Fort Hays State University where he got his degree in Psychology before transferring to the University of Kansas and graduating as a Pharmacist in 1966.  After graduating from pharmacy school, Don returned to Russell where he worked as staff pharmacist with his family at Dawson Drugstore.  This

Glenn E. Crawford, 82, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Glenn was born November 26, 1940 on the family farm in Osborne County, Kansas.  He was the son of Lloyd and Lucy (Robertson) Crawford.  He grew up on the farm northeast of Natoma and graduated from Natoma High School in 1958. Ernest Alvin “Sonny” Stoppel, 75, of Russell, Kansas, died peacefully on Thursday, December 01, 2022, at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, after a long battle with cancer. Rita J. Avila, 65, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at her home in Russell. Rita was born on December 03, 1956, in Plainville, Kansas, the daughter of Stanley L. and Mary Lou (Simons) Richmond. She grew up in Plainville, Kansas, and graduated from Plainville High School. She worked for many years with Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas for many years as a caregiver.
