Randy Rohleder

Rohleder 59, of Gorham Kansas, died on Thursday, June 03, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Randy was born March 1, 1962 in Hays, KS to Norman and Vera (Rohr) Rohleder. He graduated from Russell High School class of 1980. He often talked about playing for the 4A State Championship in football, what a season.Randy

He attended Colby Community College on a livestock judging scholarship, where the team placed 2nd in the Nation. Randy earned high individual honors at the San Francisco Cow Palace competition. He continued his education at Kansas State University and in 1983 his team won the National Championship in livestock judging. In the summer of 1983 he attended the same auctioneer school, as his grandfather Colonel Otto Rohleder, in Mason City, Iowa.  While in Manhattan he met his wife Virginia (Schmitt), they were married September 5, 1987 and were blessed with two children; Colby and Sadee. Together they operated Rohleder Auction & Realty, farmed and raised cattle.  He was a member of the St Mary’s Church of Gorham, 4th Degree K of C, Rural Water District #4 and an FFA Alumni Member.  Randy enjoyed coyote hunting before he had kids, tailgating at KSU football games, golfing, cornhole, camping at the river, casino trips and the Chiefs and Royals.

One of Randy’s favorite seasons of life was coaching Colby in baseball and basketball and watching “Hammer” (Sadee) compete in all her activities. He never missed any of his kids events and always found a reason to tailgate!  He had many close friends, who always made their way to the shed and he never knew a stranger.

Randy is survived by his wife Virginia of the home, son Colby (Ashley) and daughter Sadee Soldan (Rex) both of Rural Gorham. Randy’s pride and greatest joy were his three grandsons Colt Soldan, Otto Rohleder and Owen Soldan and his first granddaughter arriving in July.

His parents Norman and Vera Rohleder, sister Laurie Miller (Randy) of Ottawa, brother Jody Rohleder (Kim) of Wichita, nieces and nephews Jordan Miller (Chelsea), Shelby Gwinn (Derek), Riley Rohleder (Jason), Lane Best (Brian) and Miranda Rohleder.
