Robert A. Grizzle

Robert Allen Grizzle, 65, of Eudora, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.

Robert was born November 2, 1957, in Enid, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Leon and Ernestine (Butler) Grizzle.  The Grizzle family moved to Russell, Kansas when Robert was young.  He grew up and attended schools in Russell.

Robert was united in marriage to Dorothy Sauders on March 5, 1994, in Clearview City, Kansas. Robert was blessed with five children: Kevin, Carrie, Jamie, Rachel and Alan.

Robert was an independent Drywaller.  He worked in construction most of his life.  While living in Eudora he worked for the Eudora High School as a Janitor.  He attended the Cornerstone Church and was active in the church’s youth programs.  When he was younger, he served in the National Guard.  He was a car enthusiast.  Anything about cars he was interested in.  Family was important and he enjoyed the times with his children and grandchildren.

Robert’s surviving family include his wife of 29 years, Dorothy of the home; daughters, Jamie Jones of Eudora, Kansas and Rachel Grizzle of Eudora, Kansas; sons, Kevin Grizzle (Brittinei) of Galena, Missouri and Alan Rhea of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brothers, Phillip Grizzle (Kim) of Russell, Kansas and Richard Grizzle of Hays, Kansas; sisters, Patricia Dillon of Russell, Kansas and Theresa Ehrlich (Ron) of Ellis, Kansas; four grandchildren, Adisyn Grizzle, Landon Lee, Asher Grizzle and Brynna Rhea.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Carrie Grizzle.

Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  Burial of Ashes will follow at the Russell City Cemetery.  The family will be present to greet friends from 9:30 AM to service time, Thursday morning at the mortuary.  Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
