Sadie Arnet

Sadie Jo Louise Arnet, 27, of Russell, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Sadie was born March 30, 1995 in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Angie (Kaufman) Arnet. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in the Class of 2013. She graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. She then attended and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. While in school she had an internship with St. Francis Ministries; after school she continued her employment with St. Francis Ministries as an Integration case worker and for the last year or so was an Adoption Specialist.

Sadie was known for her great sense of humor, her enjoyment of fishing, traveling, swimming and spending time at the lake, collecting music concert band t-shirts, being with her family and friends, and taking care of her families and “her kids” at work. She had no children of her own, but had hopes of adopting several some time in the future.

Surviving family include her parents, Fred and Angie Arnet of Russell, Kansas; three sisters, Rose Bender, Lee Arnet and Erica Arnet all of Russell, Kansas; three brothers, Nicholas Arnet, Elias Arnet and Benjamin Arnet all of Russell, Kansas; nephew Jaxon Arnet-Prewitt; and four nieces, Vanessa Arnet-Lazono, Alexandra Arnet-James, Madelynn Arnet-James and Isabella Arnet-James. Sadie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Norma Jean Rupp and her paternal grandparents Charles and Anna Arnet.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary. A Celebration of her Life will be held with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler. A Memorial has been established as the Sadie Arnet Memorial Fund. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
