Sandra Kay (Nuss) Brown, 76, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Sandra was born February 20, 1947, in Hoisington, Kansas. She was the daughter of Milton and Edna (Maier) Nuss. She grew up in the Susank and Hoisington areas.
Sandra was united in marriage to John Brown on October 16, 1964, in Great Bend, Kansas. From this union they were blessed with two daughters; Misty and Melodie. They were divorced later in life.
Sandra cleaned homes and offices in Russell for over 40 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, mowing, spending time at the lake, spending time with her grandsons and loved caring for her animals.
Surviving family include her daughters, Misty Brown (Michael Werth) and Melodie Anschutz (Derrick) all of Russell, Kansas; foster daughter, Tammy Pellant of Wilson, Kansas; sister, Pam Aldrich (Troy) of Lacrosse, Kansas; brothers, Warren Nuss (Shelia) of Hoisington, Kansas and Gary Nuss (Janet) of Silver Creek, Washington; and two grandsons, David Brown and Jordan Werth (Sierra) and foster grandson Colton Pellant.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Nuss; and ex-husband, John Brown.
A gathering service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Friday, September 08, 2023, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private burial of ashes at a later date. Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who are in charge of these arrangements.
