Tamara R. Conser

Tamara Rayette Conser, 73, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Tamara was born August 12, 1946 in Syracuse, Kansas.  She was one of ten children born to Raymond L. and Doris M. (Crozier) Kinzie.  She grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Syracuse High School in the Class of 1964.

Tamara was united in marriage to Clifford Clayton Conser in March of 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma.  They made their home in Syracuse for a couple of years before moving to Overland Park, Kansas.  Then in 1986 they moved to Valley Falls, Kansas and lived there until 2002 when she moved to Russell.  Clifford preceded her in death on May 24, 2002.  Later she developed a close relationship with LeRoy Giebler.

Tamara was a devoted wife, friend and homemaker.  Later in life she worked as a Manager of McDonald’s in Overland Park and Topeka, Kansas.  She attended the Southern Baptist Church of Russell.  She enjoyed tending her flowers and garden, reading inspirational stories, listening to country and gospel music and “loved  her Jesus”.

Tamara’s surviving family include her daughter, Tami Shenk (Jeff) of Silver Lake, Kansas; five sons, Patrick Kinzie (Anna) of Phoenix, Arizona, Bryan Schmidt (Mitchelle) of Syracuse, Kansas, Cody Conser (Heather) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Clayton Conser (Brittany) of Valley Falls, Kansas and Colt Conser of Valley Falls, Kansas; five brothers, Raymond Kinzie (Mary Jane) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Leonard Kinzie (Nancy Wagner) of Topeka, Kansas, Bruce Kinzie (Lenora) of Topeka, Kansas, Dean Kinzie (Vicki) of Maxville, Kansas and Curtis Kinzie of Emporia, Kansas; three sisters, Bernita Hirsch (Larry) of Syracuse, Kansas, JoQueta Cano of Galatia, Kansas and Brooke Price (Rev. Daniel) Coldwater, Kansas; 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Tamara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Roger Kinzie.

Tamara’s family will hold a graveside service at Valley Falls, Kansas at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.  Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, who is in charge of these arrangements.
