Tyner A. Wittman, 84, of Russell, Kansas, passed away March 12, 2022 in the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Tyner was born March 22, 1937 in Russell. He was the son of Leslie A. and Floreine (Lancaster) Wittman. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.
Tyner was united in marriage to Berniece Reinhart on April 26, 1980. They made their home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tyner was a Manager of a motel in Colorado Springs for over 30 years. Then moved back to Russell and worked at Fossil Station for 12 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Russell. He was the Russell Elks Lodge # 1715 Past Exalted Ruler in 1984-85.
Tyner’s surviving family include his sister, Kay Miller (Fred) of Salina, Kansas; sister-in-law, DeeAnn Mathison of Russell, Kansas. Three nieces, Stacey Swagerty (Shane) of Bennington, Ks., Kelsi Steinle (Stephen) of Salina, Ks., and Tamara Wittman Anglin of Russell Ks., and one Nephew, Ryan Miller (Yoko) of Richmond Tx., together with many great nieces and nephews.
Tyner was preceded in death by his parents, wife Berniece , his brother Lee David (Pete) and nephew David Allen Wittman. Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Russell City Cemetery.
