Wilma E. Zeigler

Wilma Ella (Luhman) Zeigler, 95, of Natoma, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Wilma was born September 1, 1927 on the family farm north of Natoma.  She grew up on the farm and attended country schools.  She graduated from Natoma High School in the Class of 1946.

Wilma met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Leo William Zeigler on June 6, 1948 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Natoma.  This union was blessed with six children; Carol, Ken, Dan, Nancy, Linda and Tracy.  They made their home on a farm west of Natoma.

Wilma was a devoted farmer’s wife and homemaker for her children.  She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and Church Guild.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She possessed a strong positive attitude and was always smiling.

Wilma’s surviving family include her daughters, Carol Mueller (John) of Leawood, Kansas, Nancy Taggart (Frank) of Natoma, Kansas and Linda Crawford (Jeff) of Natoma, Kansas; sons, Ken Zeigler (Linda) of Wichita, Kansas, Dan Zeigler (Linda) of Natoma, Kansas and Tracy Zeigler (Annette) of Natoma, Kansas; sister, Norma Horine of Carrolltown, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leo; brothers, Hugo Luhman and Victor Luhman; and sister Esther Moenning.

Celebration of Wilma’s life will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma.  Burial will follow at the Natoma Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church, with the family present to greet friends. Memorials have been established with Peace Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.  Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
