Cynthia L. Pitcock

Cynthia Lou Pitcock, 75, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Russell Regional Hospital.

Cynthia was born January 24, 1947 in Russell, Kansas.  She was one of four daughters born to Dean and Marjorie (Pope) Dumler.  She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.  She graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology.  She then attended and graduated from Frostburg University with a Masters Degree in Phycology. 

Cynthia was difference maker. She held many executive positions at companies throughout her life.

Cynthia was a devoted homemaker for her family.  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Russell VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed watching sports especially her son’s and her grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Cynthia’s surviving family include her son, David Pitcock (Barbara) of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Betha Howard of Hays, Kansas, Christy Young (Kirk) of Marquette, Kansas and Judy Knepp (Ron) of Augusta, Kansas; three grandchildren: Brooklyn, Chance, and Kali and three great grandchildren: Jet, Noxx, and Lola.

She was proud to be “Nana Cindy” to anyone who knew her.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and son, Scott Pitcock. Celebration of Cynthia’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.  Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  A Memorial has been established as the Cynthia Pitcock Memorial Fund.  Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements
