Harold Gene Mosher, 90, of Russell, Kansas, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home in Russell.
Gene was born on May 07, 1932 in Lawrenceburg, Kansas, near Concordia, Kansas, the son of William and Lula (Wineger) Mosher. He grew up in the Concordia area and graduated from the local high school. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Joan Mary Starkey on July 28, 1950, in Concordia. From this union Gene and Joan were blessed with a daughter Margaret. They moved to the Russell area in 1966, when Gene went to work for United Telephone. Gene worked for United Telephone, later purchased by Sprint, for 36 years. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering in his shop and working around the house and in his yard. Most of all he enjoyed spending quiet time with his wife at home.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan on October 01, 2020, his daughter Margaret on December 22, 2021, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Cremation was selected by Gene and Joan and their wishes were to have no funeral service ceremony. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the cremation service arrangements.
