Martha Grace Smith-Kennedy was born March 18, 1940 in Dodge City, Kansas to Floye and Joe Leonard. She departed this life on October 7, 2021, after a brief illness, in Woodland Park, Colorado.
Martha is survived by siblings Steve Rohrbaugh (Raylene), Linda Rohrbaugh Diede (Gary), Bill DeGarmo (Randi), Barbara DeGarmo Lohmeier (Patrick), and Laurita DeGarmo Moyer, (Jerry); grandchildren Chris Howard, Tucker Smith, and Korbin Smith; great-grandchildren Jennifer, Nevaeh, Graciee, Aaliyah, and Bentley Howard; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother and father, husbands Aldon (Ike) Smith and Harry Kennedy, children Todd Smith and Linda Smith Miller.
Martha loved her family dearly, as they did her. She never met a stranger; everyone was a friend. Martha was a loving, praying Christian and was truly blessed. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 04, 2021, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas. Family will greet guests the day of the service at the mortuary. Cremation has been selected by the family and there will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Humane Society in honor of Martha’s love of dogs. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
