Nick H. Von Lintel

Nicholas “Nick” Henry Von Lintel, 72, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.

Nick was born on April 16, 1951, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Lawrence and Theresa Marie (Rohleder) Von Lintel.  He grew up in the Quinter area and graduated from Quinter High School in 1969.  He met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Mary Gayle Meier, on August 23, 1969, in St. Peter, Kansas.  From this union they were blessed with 2 daughters Tana and Trina.  They moved to Russell, Kansas in 2006, where he worked as a maintenance and repairman for the USD 407 School District.  He was a longtime member with St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell.  He enjoyed reading, working with his hands, remodeling his home himself and working on hotrods. He currently was working on his beloved 1948, Dodge Pickup and was trying to finish it before he became ill.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and being involved with his grandchildren.

Surviving family include his wife Mary of the home; daughters Tana Sells (Roger) of Russell, Kansas and Trina Yauch of Hays, Kansas; brothers Larry Von Lintel (Debi) of Goodland, Kansas and Bruce Von Lintel (Jamie) of Larned, Kansas; sisters Annette Reitmayer (Jerry) of Derby, Kansas and Kathy Blackwill (Jim) of Quinter, Kansas; 4 grandchildren Chelsea Eickhoff (Kenneth), Nick Sells, Brandon and Caden Yauch; 2 great grandchildren Karsen and Ryker Eickhoff.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of the funeral mass for Nick will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 03, 2023, at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell.  A graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Park, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, August 02, 2023, at the mortuary.  A vigil and rosary will be held at 7 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.  Memorials may be given to the Russell Regional Hospital and sent in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
