Patty I. Pruter

Patty Ilene Pruter, 78, of Miami, Oklahoma, and former Natoma, Plainville and Hays, Kansas resident, died on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Freeman Health Care Center West in Joplin, Missouri.

Patty was born on February 06, 1944, in Norton, Kansas, the daughter of Homer L. and Velera A. (Spear) Sawyer.  She grew up in the Plainville, Kansas area and graduated from Plainville High School in 1962.  After high school she went to cosmetology school.  She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Keith L. Pruter on September 13, 1964, in Plainville.  She worked as a bank employee for 22 years at the First National Bank in Natoma, Kansas.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Plainville and the Russell V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #6240.  She enjoyed reading, fishing, playing cards and traveling.

She is survived by her sisters Peggy Maytubby of Miami, Oklahoma, Sherryl Strong of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Randene Fraiser of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Keith on February 26, 1986.

A private family celebration of Patty’s life will take place at a later date.  Burial will take place at the Natoma City Cemetery.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell and Natoma, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
