Edwin Adolph Scheck, 97, of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, April 09, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas. Edwin was born on September 03, 1925, on the family farm in rural Ellis County, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Magdalen (Windholz) Scheck.  He grew up on the farm north of Walker, Kansas, and attended school in Victoria, Kansas.  He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II.  He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Rita Rose Bellendir on August 08, 1949, at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Victoria, Kansas.  From

Joann Marie (Huss) Malone, 93, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Joann was born December 21, 1929 on the family farm 5 miles west of Herndon, Kansas.  She was one of eight children born to John and Emma (Keplinger) Huss.  She attended over eight years in rural country schools.  She was a graduate of Herndon High School in the Class of ‘47. James (Jim) Willis Feil, 67, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Dalton Lynn Frost, 30, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 at his home in Gorham, KS. Dalton and his identical twin brother, Dakota, were born on September 16th, 1992, in Hays, KS to Gerald and Vickie Frost. His childhood and school years were spent spread between Salina, Russell, and Natoma, KS. His adult life was spent mainly in Colorado and Russell working in the fencing business and in several different areas in the oilfield. He was one of the hardest workers anyone ever knew. Dalton and his twin were daredevils from the start and lived life at full speed.

Wesley James Gross, III, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Wesley was born on July 01, 1945, in Langston, Oklahoma, the son of Wesley J. Jr. and Amanda (Franklin) Gross.  He grew up in the Langston and Guthrie, Oklahoma area and attended local schools.  He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Donna Dewberry on April 02, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for many years.  He enjoyed working of cars, house remodeling and doing handyman jobs for friends and family. 

Marceline A. (Mitchell) Bender, 96, lifelong resident of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2023 at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Marceline was born March 9, 1927 in Russell.  She was the daughter of Oscar R. and Margaret (Benso) Mitchell.  She grew up on the Mitchell homestead south of Russell.  She attended West Kennebec School and later graduated from Russell High School in 1944.  After high school, she briefly attended business school with her sister, Glenna.  She then worked for her Aunt Glennadine and husband Leo. Larry C. MacIntire, 76, of Natoma, Kansas, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home. Larry was born August 18, 1946 in Ludlow, Massachusetts.  He was one of two children born to Wesley C. and Elizabeth A. (Broadbent) MacIntire.  Larry grew up in Wilbraham, Massachusetts and graduated from Minnechaug High School in Wilbraham. After high school, Larry served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  He served on the USS Ticonderoga and the USS Tutuila. Larry was a self-employed entrepreneur.  He would purchase cars and then resale them.  He enjoyed driving and working with

Rocky L. Yoder, 68, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Rocky was born November 17, 1954 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado .  He was one of five children born to Wilbur and Phyllis (Bedker) Yoder.  At the age of 12 he started working in construction with his father.  In high school he became interested in Rodeo bull riding.  He then attended two years at Sterling College before he started working at the Arabian Horse Registry in Illinois.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Master’s degree in Business.
